The KAYO story begins with our founder, David Jigang Dai, and his passion for off-road motorcycles. After majoring in automotive engineering, he gained expert knowledge working at Zundapp, then Honda and even trained at Honda's Kumamoto Factory. This period is the origin of KAYO.

The spirit of KAYO was born when our founding team first sketched the idea for a 50cc children's pit bike. Those sketches eventually would become our KMB, which debuted in 2001 at EICMA, the International Motorcycle Show, in Milan, Italy.

  • 2002

After KAYO's successful international debut, our founders returned to Tianjin to use their experiences and build a company with long-term success in mind. Deciding the right approach to management and how to build our technological capacity was not compromised.

  • 2004

The first KAYO fully owned and operated factory was established in Jinyun County, Zhejiang. Our small team produced only a handful of models, including the KMB.

  • 2007

KAYO formed its racing team and rose to national prominence after getting the best overall team score at the 2007 China Motocross Championship tournament. As a newcomer, we turned the heads of many new fans. We even received praise from the General Administration of Sports!

  • 2008

KAYO began its cooperation with the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China, the top off-road motorcycle organization in China, with the mission to get more young people involved with off-road motorsports. Together, we established the 110cc Junior Division in the National Off-Road Championship and co-sponsored training camps for kids to learn the fun and safety of pit bikes.

  • 2009

The 2009 150cc China Motocross Championship goes down as one of the most historic races in Chinese Motocross history. For over a decade, rebuilt foreign brand bikes dominated all competitions. When our KAYO T4 crossed the finish line first, we ended that streak and redefined the potential of domestic dirt bike manufacturing.

  • 2010

KAYO continued to improve as our liquid-cooled T6 took first place in the championship and set the standard for liquid-cooled 250cc for the domestic dirt bike market.

2011-2015
  • 2011

KAYO perfected a design for a smaller Grand Prix motorcycle. All across the world today, our MiniGP is used to introduce people to the thrill of road circuit racing.

  • 2014

After a ten-year absence from our catalog, KAYO resumed the development and production of ATVs. Professional riders in New Zealand agreed to test our products with a three-week, comprehensive performance test. They were impressed and praised KAYO for the durability of our small and medium-sized ATVs.

  • 2015

As the company evolved, it came time to adjust our corporate structure. KAYO became the first and only off-road racing motorcycle company in the new NEEQ stock exchange.

2016-2020
  • 2018

As global demand for off-road racing and recreation vehicles bloomed, KAYO took another big step and began to build its new, state-of-the-art factory.

  • 2019

On the twentieth anniversary of being in business, we did what we do best: share our passion of off-road racing. The KAYO Racing School and Training facility was established to provide a space for young riders to learn and develop their skills.

2021-today
  • 2021

Despite difficult times across the world, 2021 was KAYO's best year to date. Along with breaking company sales record, we entered three additional categories of off-road vehicles: Electric ATVs, Go Karts, and Side-by-Sides. This important strategic company step represents the enduring spirit of innovation we have here at KAYO.

  • 2023

After decades of diligent management and building a reputation for quality and reliability, we were honored to be listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange. (Stock Code: 834058)
